Does anyone use the cycle path on the A580? If yes what condition is it in? I've not been on it for years and it wasn't great then... just hoping it has been improved: )

I'm particularly interested on the section between Worsley and Lowton.

    Not sure that far across but from haydock to knowsley I commuted every day for a year without much trouble and very few punctures using summer tyres right through winter. Decent surface just had to watch out for dog s****

    Thanks, reassuring. I suppose I'll find out when I do it and if it is poor I suppose I can ride on the dual carriage way!!

    Probably a lot smoother/ pot free than any other bastid road in the area tbh

    As above. Might be a bit of mud and gravel where a field entrance crosses the cyclepath but generally fine. I know you are joking about riding on the dual carriageway but I have seen cyclists doing that. Death wish!
