Rand McNally paper maps vs Garmin GPS Maps

I am Planning my 1st Solo Bicycle Touring Trip in the Pocono Mountains in Pennsylvania
and North Western New Jersey...I hope this can be done! and I had plans for Bicycle Touring Trip in 2014 in the Pocono Mountains in Pennsylvania on 4-2014 but my plans was interrupted.

I now have the Garmin Edge Explore 1000 GPS unit for my bicycle touring trips. And I am going to be using my new Garmin Edge Explore 1000 GPS unit for my bicycle touring trip on the Pacific coast route. and My New Garmin Edge Explore 1000 GPS unit for my Bicycle Touring Trips in the USA. And this Garmin came with everything that I would need. And The Handlebars Mount that I was thinking that I would need was Garmin Edge Mountain Bike Mount but it came with the Garmin Out-front mount is basically same as the Garmin Extended Out-front Bike Mount. And You we'll see in the second picture that I did a reverse on the Out-front mount on my Raceface XC MTN Handlebars on my Surly LHT 26 52cm Touring Bicycle. And now I can Navigate around Southern California for my Shakedown bike touring trip. And My Bicycle Touring Trip on the Pacific Coast Bicycle Route from SLO, CA to San Diego, CA. And Flagstaff, AZ to San Diego, CA. and the Pocono Mountains in Pennsylvania and North Western New Jersey.
