Rebound adjustment not working.

So I bought a new bike or used that is. It’s a Boardman Team 29er 2016 in pristine condition. However the adjustment dial for the rebound adjustment is missing. No big deal right? So I’ve tried to set the rebound by using an Allen key on the screw that is pictured. However all this does is tighten or remove the screw the rebound does not change. I have no idea whether the fork is broken in that regard (it works perfectly fine for everything else) or if I’m adjusting it wrong. Please can someone help. The fork is a 2016 Rockshox Recon Silver
Thanks guys

:-) You need a 2.5mm Allen key through hole in the shaft of the bolt onto the adjuster rod, not a 5mm to undo the bolt........with the recessed base like that, you either need an unfeasably long Allen key or the proper adjuster.
There are different length RS adjusters, you’ll need this style https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre ... 2510126458Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.0 -

Knew it. Thanks for the help. So I guess the 2.5mm needs to go all the way through the screw and into the forks. I’ve ordered an extra long Allen key and let’s hope it works. Thanks0 -
That type of adjuster is notorious for falling off or snapping, hopefully in your case it is missing as opposed to the hex shafts snapped off.0

Why I always remove mine once I’ve set them and am happy.
