Worthwhile bike upgrade

Currently have 2 giant defys. One is carbon for summer and one is aluminium for communting/winter. Both been great and the geometry suits me hence why i have 2. Im hoping to get a new bike to replace the winter aluminium defy and downgrade the carbon to winter/commuting duties.
My budget is around £2k and looking at anything with a relaxed geometry as the racier geometry doesnt suit me at all. Looking for a carbon frame and ultegra di2.
Ive seen this from merlin
https://www.merlincycles.com/merlin-cor ... 08933.html
Its well within budget and i have wheels to swap out for the heavy standard ones. My concern is it wont feel any better/different to my giant defy composite i have that also has ultegra di2. As it comes to comparing geometry im pretty much useless at this so cant even work out if its a similar frame either. Any advice would be appreciated. Likewise if any ither suggestions for a different bike too.

I honestly dont know. My defy is from 2013 and the merlin cordite is apparently a ridley made frame.0 -
What about this - just about in your price range

If you know you like the defy then why not stick with them?
Personally I'd suggest you avoid di2, I've had it and went back to mechanical and at this price point it will consume a lot of your budget.
This any good for you?

If you do want di2, how about one of these?

Im a big fan of di2. Really love it over mechanical. I know it gives me no advantage though and puts costs up but willing to put up with that.
The cubes on my shortlist. Never grown to cubes styling but the black looks good and not to blingy like some of their designs.
Whags peoples thoughts on this dolan etape in black gloss?

Its got the current di2 too over the older one on the merlin.0 -

The Nitro was the Ridley Helium frame. The Cordite is a Ridley frame, not sure which model though. I’ve a Noah and it doesn’t look similar to that.0 -

It can come with Di2, and there is another colour listed, black and orange, although I cannot find any images of that colour on the website. I think the image is of the team issue orange.

Edit - I think this page has the alternative colour, in a different frame but you can get an idea. Much more subtle.

Personally, I'd keep the aluminium Defy as a winter trainer and sell the carbon one if you're going to replace a bike with another carbon frame. Have a look at the Merida Ride and Scultura, both well within your price range with Shimano Ultegra.I ride a bike. Doesn't make me green or a tree hugger. I drive a car too.0
