Looking some new jerseys or light jacket type garments to fill in the spot between winter jacket and short sleeve club gear. Over the winter I either wore club full wintex jacket with base layer or if a bit warmer wintex fronted jacket with base. I run hot so no need for extra layers under whatever jacket I was wearing.
What do I need to fill in the gap between these warm jackets and my summer club jerseys ? Im thinking a lightweight fairly windproof long sleeve jersey ?

Have a look at the Craft base layers with the windstopper panels. Ones of those with some arm warmers can really extend the temperature range of your normal summer jerseys.

Failing that, maybe consider a windproof gilet or a jersey with some windproof properties such as a Castelli Perfetto Light.

Wot he said. Saturday's ride was in summer (UA Heatgear) short sleeved base layer, short sleeved summer jersey and a Pearl Izumi windproof gilet. Took the arm warmers (and knee warmers) rolled up in the pocket and never took them out.

Below 15*C I wear a UA cold gear base layer and summer jersey. I’m good with summer shorts down to about 10-11*C. I too run hot, no leg warmers until below 10*C for me.

At and just a bit above 15*C I wear a summer jersey with no base layer and will take a pair of arm warmers and gilet with me for if temp drops. Works for me.

Out in showers last two days, between 7-10 degrees, wore a short sleeved merino base under a Castelli Alpha jersey, with summer shorts. Kept upper body dry and comfortable.

Arm warmers and gilet sound like a good bet to me too.

I'll wear a base layer in all weather.

Arm warmers and gilet a definite, but make sure the gilet is easily packable if you need to remove it during a ride that warms up. Knee warmers are also good if you need a bit more leg coverage, but make sure you get the right length, as some come closer to full leg warmers.

If you are still wanting to get an intermediate jersey, with wind-stopping properties, Rapha have the Brevet range with windproof panels in both short and long sleeve versions. I have the long sleeve, and it's fairly thin material on the back, so won't overheat.

Not cheap though, I only buy from there with discounts or vouchers!

My "intermediate" jersey is a Ale PRR Tirreno Long Sleeve Jersey and I usually wear this when I think my LS Gabba would be too warm.

I was out on Saturday morning expecting 6-7 degrees and wore a base layer and this jersey and probably would have been fine - except that the temperature forecast didn't match reality or what my Garmin was telling me, so I ended up being a bit overdressed for the 12C average.

    These

I've got two of them now, they are lovely. I prefer them to my Rapha kit, much more capable and better designed. Oh and less than half the price.

For windproof this is the one to go for

That's good to know. I need something to replace my Gore Phantom which is now a bit baggy on me, but which fits my son perfectly. Was looking at the Castelli Perfetto and ROS jerseys and jackets, but wincing at the prices.

Just picked up one of these reduced for £35 that might fit the bill. Had bought it for £60 a month ago, but saw the bigger discount so returned original order. Similar to a Perfetto short sleeve.
It's a nice fit for me, but haven't worn it in anger yet.

Very tempted by this! Shame it has a black back though (I really wish manufacturers would stop doing that). How is the sizing? I am normally a M and buy a L castelli.

Normally a medium too and went for that size. In Castelli Medium is too tight for me and Large marginally too large
