Would you buy a 2017 model Giant Propel in 2018? Even on closeout prices?
Or is the 5-year old frame design just too non-aero against more recent rivals, including the new Propel?
The 2017 Dura Ace Di2 Advanced 0 SL model is on sale for £3.5k, against £9k for the new 2018 equivalent...

Buy the old one, spend the savings on a few new bits and training camps and I bet it'll be considerably quicker than the (more aero) new one.argon 18 e116 2013 Vision Metron 80

I'm still on the fence.
Main concerns are the ISP and the lack of adjustability and the effectiveness of the v-brakes. How have you found those?0 -

I’ve had no issues with the brakes at all.
I don’t know where you are but I highly recommend Pedal On in Tadley. It was a 6 hour round trip for me but definitely worth it.
They sized me for the bike and cut the post, as they said if they cut it wrong it’s there problem.
Another thing to be aware of is the Propel sizing. I ride a medium Defy as my winter bike, I’ve got a medium TCR but I had to drop to a small on the Propel.
I hope this helps0 -

Is that 20-25mm adjustment both up and down?
The eTap bike is in stock at The Tri Store in Yeovil, so it's a similar round trip to you if I need to be fitted in-store.
I've already got bike fit measurements though, so I was hoping not to have to pick it up...0 -

Yeovil is not that far from me. Tri-UK is a good shop.
It’s 20-25mm total movement0 -

There is absolutely no way in a million years that it is worth paying £5.5k more for the newer model. Either get the old model and pocket the savings, or if you want to spend the cash get the older bike for aero blasts and something like the Canyon Ultimate for climbing etc (or find something else entirely for that price)0
