Hi everyone, I’m new to all this so please bear with me.
Haven’t rode a bike since I was a kid, 31 now, woke up and decided I want a MTB. I’ll mostly use it on the road and parks but some of my mates go to trails so I would like to try that aswell. Obviously nothing mad.
My work uses CycleScheme but I’m only willing to spend 500-600 at first as it’s been so long so don’t want to waste too much money if I don’t get into it. I’m 6’3’ and 34 leg so I think I may need XL? Here’s a few bikes I’ve seen anyway that I like, but don’t know what is best for me. All help appreciated, thanks and sorry for long post.

Local bike shop offered this for £575:

Then I like the look of these two:

Or should I go for: Calibre Gauntlet 610B or Vitus Nucleus 275 Shimano 2018, these two seem to get mentioned a lot on here? Thanks again.

Disregard the Scott, low and bits (like a 7 speed freewheel by the looks of it)

Of the others, the Bergamont or the Cube look ok. The Cube just seems to shade it on components, although I would probably buy the Calibre, simply because it has the best (air) fork.

  • Ok mate, thanks for reply, I’ll go and have a look at the Calibre
  • Went to GoOutdoors today, they didn’t have Calibre in stock and said they aren’t getting anymore as their new bikes are coming out start of May, new versions of the Two.Two(Two.Three he called it) and new Gauntlet
