The question is in the title really... my current wheels that came with the bike the spokes keep breaking I don't want to spend a lot I think any wheelset will be an upgrade but I Don't have much knowledge I will list some within my budget please tell me which ones would be most durable on UK roads. Thanks

If anyone has any better alternative suggestions please let me know, my bike speed is 8.

Is it a new bike? What are the current wheels? How much do you weigh? There must be something going wrong if you keep breaking spokes and your weight might need to influence recommendations.
    Cannondale Synapse Carbon Ultegra
    Kinesis Racelight 4S
Specialized Allez Elite (Frame/Forks for sale)
Specialized Crosstrail Comp Disk (For sale)

    That's not the question though...

    Most durable on UK roads?

I can recommend a set of these:

I bought a rear summer before last, it hasn't let me down (or needed touching in fact) and I'm 120kg and ride a lot.

My purpose in asking about current wheels was to gain more information upon which to base any recommendations but, frankly, if that’s your attitude.....

The halfords Khamsin is Campagnolo only stock so will not work with shimano equipped bikes.

The halfords RS300 takes a screw on freewheel not a cassette.

So that just leaves the Wiggle miche, which is fine if you have a shimano equipped road bike that takes cassettes.

If you have a hybrid none of the wheels will fit as the frame gap at the point the rear wheel connects (drop-outs) will be too wide.

If you have a road bike with a cassette i would recommend Shimano R501 from Rose bikes. R501's have always had a great reputation as a reliable and durable budget road wheel but they no longer seem to be available in the U.K.

If you sign up to the rose bikes newsletter you get a 10 euro voucher which will cover delivery. I have used Rose bike in the past for stuff including wheel sets and had no problems.

The miche excite come in two flavours. Mist have a crappy freehub and low cost cup and gone bearing hubs- avoid.

The reflex wheel though is not alot more but has miche Primato internals. This is a very reliable hub and frankly the most durable hub you can have. Just keep on top of basic maintenance. All the miche Primato spares for the rear are compatible so these hubs will just go on and on.

I would expect the service intervals in the Shimano wheel to be more frequent and ultimately it is more involved as a srtip down would be required every 2000 to 3000 miles to keep running smoothly.

The campag wheels are like the miche, well built but the miche reflex hub is more reliable I thinkm.

    So get the miche reflex.
