Im looking for an all rounder.. mostly for forrest trails but nothing 2 daring. Have up 2 £2500 to spend. Looking at the
Giant Anthem 29er 2 Mountain Bike 2018...

    It's a good bike but I would be put off by the 27.2mm seat post. That limits the ability to fit a dropper post in the future should you want one. The 29er is, to my eyes, an XC race bike.

    The Anthem 2 27.5 comes with a dropper post, has beefier forks and higher spec brakes. It also has more travel (110mm rear, 130mm front). It is more of a trail bike. Unless you really want a 29er this would be my choice.

    There are some big savings on previous year's models if you look around. e.g. the 2017 Anthem 2 27.5 is £1,700 from Paul's Cycles.
