The wink after his post should have given a clue he was teasing a little. But the tone of your posts implies your priorities are firstly avoid Halfords, followed by brand name and looks. Many people have suggested better bikes and you keep going back to name brands. It's your money and your choice, you need to buy whatever makes you happy and not care what a bunch of blokes on the internet say. If you're not happy with your purchase you won't ride it as much. What will make you happy after 6 months when the new bike buzz has worn off? The name, the look, the ride or who you gave your money to? Only you can answer that one.
