New shape Campag Veloce shifter question

I'm considering buying a set of new Campag Veloce ergo shifters as they're on offer at the moment here

They seem to get mostly good reviews, however I've seen some posts from a few years ago about problems with Veloce shifters - notably a plastic rachet which wears out quickly inside the r/h shifter. Apparently they couldn't be repaired so the whole thing had to be junked...
Does anyone know if the new shape veloce shifter I'm considering still has the plastic ratchet or a metal one? If plastic has anyone come up with a repair solution?
