Mountain biking in San Jose California

Looks like I'm off to San Jose for a techie conference in June, but will possibly have the weekend off and fancy doing a bit of mountain biking.

Anyone done such a thing over there? Looking for trails and bike hire.

    Not done any biking when over there, but SJ is just south of San Francisco and I do not think there is a lot around there in the immediate area.
    You may be better looking at Santa Cruz or Monterey area which is only about 45 minutes drive further south
