HRM woes
My Garmin HRM, which is 'paired' up with a Polar soft strap is playing up.
It connects to my Edge 520 fine, but gives silly readings...
Does this point to the strap, which I think it does, or the HRM unit itself?
I've done all the usual things - washing it, moisten it before wearing etc, re-pairing it with head unit
It is quite a few years old....

Try a new strap - cheapest way to check ? I got my last one from Decathlon for £13.0

Have you checked the battery compartment for corrosion, all that sweat if it gets in there rots everything. Now where's that "Get Out of Crash Free Card"0

Tried all the obvious things, even shorting the unit to reset it. I think it is the strap, but just threw it out there to se if there was something I'd forgotten. Off to Decathlon for me then...0

Mine started telling me I was climbing at my resting heart rate and intermittently clinically dead. I wasted time swapping / checking batteries, cleaning the contacts and laundering the strap before concluding the original Garmin "premium" strap was duff.
Got a Polar strap from Decathlon and all is well again.0
