Will this derailleur be compatible

Hi I currently have a broken sram x7 on my bike with Sram shifters. Does anyone know if an x3 would work instead of the x7. This is the 2nd time I broke the derailleur in 4 days of riding so I don’t want to drop another 60 for a derailleur (plus it’s for a dh bike, I rarely shift gear when descending). Thank you for any help!

I'm assuming you have x7 shifters so yes, SRAM Tech docs below for reference

Both are 1:1 actuation, X3 RD is 7,8,9 speed compatible.0 -

Does yours not go down hill then? Some of my most impressive road cycling has been down hill and often with a tailwind0
