Crank arm length

I’m currently running 170mm crank arms on my bike. Is there a major difference between that and 175mm when riding? Is it just a case of more leverage when pedalling?

It's highly unlikely you'd ever notice.

I rode my road bike with odd length cranks and completely forgot I'd done it. You won't notice any difference. 5mm is tiny compared to the length of your leg plus foot..
  • Thank you. I thought as much. Gonna go 1x soon so just wanted to know.

depends on your leg length and the cadence you run. I can tell the difference between 165 and 170. I have to spin a lot more on 165 than I do on 170.

10mm difference in stroke, or 2.9%, not sure what length of leg has to do with as it effects the stroke.

Probably never notice the difference, unless it's a road bike where the idea is to spin at constant cadence, mtb is different style.
