Hello,

Just looking to buy a bike for around £500 and put a child's seat on the back. Any ideas about what's a good one to get. Thinking of a cyclocross or road bike as don't want a mountain bike. Anyone have one already?

Thanks

I'd go for the WeeRider rather than a seat at the back. Does your child want to sit and stare at your bike all ride? Do you want to be able to see them to see that they aren't choking or have nodded off and lolling to one side? Do you want to talk to them and point things out them as you ride? Have your arms either side of them for extra protection and better balance? I used one for my 3 year old and much better than a seat mounted at the back.

I then upgraded to a follow me tandem. Expensive, but better than the things that end up leaning to one side damaging the childs bike.

I ride a bike. Doesn't make me green or a tree hugger. I drive a car too.

This exactly - I had one on the Plug for the Bambini. Really really good fun with them.
