I have a huge workout playlist made up over the years, not necessarily stuff I would listen to but all tempo music.
I had it on shuffle and possibly found the ultimate for ramping up.
Try Deacon Blue - Queen of the New Year.
It starts off fairly straightforward but if you are not in a pool of sweat by the end then you are not keeping up.
The above may be fact, or fiction, I may be serious, I may be jesting.
I am not sure. You have no chance.

Just downloaded Midnight ( Giorgio Moroder Remix) Coldplay - fanbloodytastic for the turbo - builds really well!
  • Have a listen to this track -‘It Won’t Always Be Like This’ by a newish band called Inhaler.
Great lively track - you’ll recognise the voice somewhat- lead singer is Bono’s son!

Just about anything by Avenged Sevenfold or Alter Bridge.

I was an 80's punk and so my ipod music consists mainly of 70's 80's and 90's punk with Discharge being a firm favourite while on the trainer due to the hard D-beat style of drumming on nearly all their tracks.

I find Pop Will Eat Itself; Marilyn Manson and The Cult fit very nicely into my turbot sessions. Also lots of late 90's early 2000's Hard Trance and "Hoovers and Horns" B)

    Sometimes. Maybe. Possibly.

+1 for Slipknot - I thoroughly enjoy the 9.0 Live album. Quite keen on Nashville Pussy as well for a slightly slower pace.

Karen Carpenter had the most beautiful voice. Carpenter's Greatest Hits and Astrud Gilberto are perfect for chilling...

  • This is one of my playlists that I frequently use. Loads of variation for the BPM/RPM!

  • Listened to Slipknot last week and really enjoyed riding along to it. Other than that it's almost always a drum and bass mix. Find the fast tempo of it helps me keep the cadence up.

I know you don't typically have music when outside or during sportives / events but having other people to ride with helps with that.

I love to find tracks with a serious amount of energy, such as this track Sabotage by Beastie Boys: https://getsongbpm.com/song/sabotage/QB0 which si rated 94 out of 100 for energy. Sure can feel it when I'm pedalling.
