Hi All,
I bought a Whyte Shoredtich a few years ago on a Cycle to work scheme and I looking to get rid of it now as I have to drive to work. After searching for what similar bikes are going for online I can't find any! Did I buy a dudd? I know very little about bikes and did as much research as I could before I took the plunge. Any advice on where to sell it? Should I just take it to a bike shop and ask them to value it? Any advice would be much appreciated.
Cheers,

from google it looks like a basic hybrid/commute bike
if it's a few years old i'd guess 20-40% of what it cost new, depends on size, condition, 'value' is something buyers decide, i wouldn't bother with a shop
a quick search finds...

...not even a year old, 1 bid, 250 quid, but size/location may not have helped
look at what similar bikes go for on ebay, it'll give you an idea, but bear in mind no one is going to want to travel far/pay much for delivery, if you live in an area with plenty of potential local buyers it'll help
if the weather is still bad where you are, it's probably not a good moment to sell a commute bike, maybe give it 2-3 weeks
you might do better keeping it for exercise/shorter tripsmy bike - faster than god's and twice as shiny0 -
Check your scheme details first - most are shorter durations but my employers runs over 4 years; 17 months instalments then a gap and a final "fair market value" payment at 48 months. If you haven't made that final purchase payment then the bike technically isn't yours to sell yet, you are still leasing it.0
