Currently got a 2014 SuperSix Evo Hi-Mod, i attempted to fit my 28c GP4000s ii and the rear touches the chainstays.

Looking to buy 25c version but unsure if they will also fit, anyone know if it will?

Or will have to buy 23c versions!

If anyone's after a pair of good condition 28c GP4000s ii PM me for a price they don't fit either of my bikes.

25's may or may not clear, it's very tight on even the 2015/6 model.

You're better off, sadly, with 23c. Though you could go 25c front.

Damn it, cheers for that much appreciated mate.

Is there any point running 25 front and 23 rear mind?
I know people run wider at the back and narrower at the front normally.

Wider tyres allow slightly lower pressures without increasing the risk of pinch punctures, so you'll get a bit more comfort and a bit more grip. AFAIK, the only reason for having narrower front is some very tiny aero gains.

Yeah, bit more damping on a 25c and the forks will definitely clear that.

The other alternative is 24c. A few around such as the Specialized Turbo etc

23mm to 25mm is an 18% gain in air.

    25mm to 28mm is a 54% gain in air.

Thus more comfort at the behest of speed, but given our collective levels, not much. I run 25mm on my bikes at 80/90psi n the front now - hands and back prefer it nowadays.
  • Those 28s will be ~31mm wide, Contis size big.

    25s will be ~27mm.

Cheers for that, I'll have to measure the distance between both chainstays.
Any tires that actually run true to size?

I run 25s on my 1st gen SS Evo. Pacenti rims so 18mm internal width. There is adequate clearance but I'd not get 28s in there.
FFS! Harden up and grow a pair :D
