Hi there
Can anyone tell me if it is ok to leave my panniers on when I put my bike on the car roof rack?
Thanks!

Depends what you mean by OK. If they are secured really well they are probably safe but they will ramp up the drag and this in turn will increase the strain on the bike retention system especially at speed. I don't think I would.......
FFS! Harden up and grow a pair :D

Why wouldn't you take them off ?
  • Thanks, I'll take them off then, hopefully won't be too much bother. I just don't ever take them off normally! Have been putting the bike in the back of my Ford galaxy up to now but am getting a skoda superb so will use a roof rack instead. thanks for the replies

Surely there will be even more room in the back of the Superb?
  • You are responsible for a safe load.
  • Thanks for replies. Maybe I'll get a rack that attaches to the back of the car instead. Anyone got any recommendations please?
