Unmatched bar tape?

Hey y'all, thinking about adding a bit of style to my race bike, I had this idea to use bar tapes of different color on the left/right side of the bar(same tape just different color). I've never seen anyone do this, what do u guys think about it. Crazy, genius, stupid, or whatever?

    It’s your bike do what ever you want, there’s a couple of cyclists around Lincoln who have different coloured tape on their bars, personally I prefer one colour

    Sounds cool - do it. Slightly different, but quirky, stands you out from the rest.

    Its not for me but it'll help you find your bike at the cafe easier. Lighter colour tape will look older than darker.

    Its really not that revolutionary, I did it when I had to tape two bikes at once. Otherwise, it just means buying two packs in different colours.

    I think it's quite common in the pro peleton where they don't care about costs and have an endless supply of tape, more used for national champs or, for example, when riders have two jerseys (I can't remember who it was but someone was in yellow and green and the tour a few years ago, i believe they had one yellow and one green).

    If you're using decent tape it does double the cost.....

    I was trying to convey that two tapes were - obviously - twice the cost and that if relatively high quality - aka 'decent' - tape was used this was likely to be expensive.
