Has any owner bought any mud guards for their C3 yet, just wondering what makefit well
    For 28 mm / 30 mm tyres
I have a pair of 35m mudguards that I test fitted to my C3 - I'll probably put them on next month. they fit 28mm tyres fine - no clearance problems. I'll check the brand tonight - I wanted SKS chromeplastics but I was given these my LBS as an equivalent and they are almost indistinguishable -

I got Flinger Mudguards - I think it is the 42's but could be the 50's- but I can check they are 40.8mm wide but I've grown out the packaging and receipt - I'll check with the LBS if you want.

Well a pair turned up today, excellent guards to say the least, just need fitting now :D
  • Picked up my 2018 C3 a few weeks back when back in the UK. The prices had certainly dropped as the 2019 range was due out at that time (since released) so the prices at Tri UK were very good, that and a super weak £ (i wonder why...) certainly helped.

Done about 1200km on it so far and have really enjoyed it although most has been on the road with the stock 28mm tyres. Those have just come off and i fitted some Schwalbe G One All-round 35mm which do fit although they are at the limit, think the spec suggest 32mm as a max. First tracks and trails this week: it's no CX or Gravel bike but it copes well enough with most things and will keep me happy through Winter at least.

I've swapped out the crappy Ultegra barrel adjuster on the rear mech for the Dura Ace version as that one works.....

Mines a 51cm for my little legs but it fits really well, just took some getting used to coming from a full CX bike. As mine will be used quite a bit off road i'm happier using SPD's so i fitted some Bontrager Comp MTB pedals, super light at 316g and a nice colour as i got the anodised gold/purple version :D Added the Fizik Blink saddle light as it neatly integrates but probably isn't the brightest but in theory it won't get used so it's more of a just in case.

I've found the C3 to be excellent and very stable on downhill sections, much better than any bike i've ridden before and it gives confidence on tight corners, even under braking.

Will likely add an RX rear mech soon as things will be getting pretty bumpy through the forests :) although the rear stay protector does already help, if only to to reduce the noise.

If there's one area I think Cervélo skimped on in the 2018 spec it was the wheels, they are "OK" but the bike deserves better so that would be my next upgrade after Winter, DT Swiss or some more Mavics but higher end would be my choice.

Anyone else planning on taking theirs "off road" (ok light tracks and trails)
  • I changed the wheels straight away on my 2018 c3, for some hunt aero light, although I will pop the original wheels back on for winter, this is my first bike with disc brakes and I must admit ,( I thought I would never say this) I prefer them to rim brakes
I only use mine on the road and cycle tracks

How are you liking the Hunt Aeros ?

I need to do some more research into better wheels that could cope with summer 80/20 road/trails and winter 50/50 with a bit of mud thrown in (and a few more rocks and roots...)

We need to see some C3 pics :D will get some up of mine

    And chunky tyres :D

Have to say these G One Allround 35mm are very good ON road, no big difference on my midweek 40km blast today and a joy to rip through the forest on the way back
  • Regarding the hunt ultra light wheels, all three of my bikes have hunt wheels on them I am a bit biased towards hunt, so obviously I will say they are good, reliable and robust wheels, it might be worth getting other owners opinions on some wheels, as I will always recommend hunt wheels
Those g one tyres look good , can you run them tubeless?

Yes, Schwalbe seem way ahead of other tyre manufacturers on Tubeless as most of their range is.
