Elite direto using Trainer road wheel circumference

Evening

Just trying to get others thoughts from previous knowledge etc..

I am currently using an Elite direto on trainer road and have read that the wheel circumference needs to be inputted as 173mm instead of the standard 2096mm due to the direct drive to enable a tru(ish) speed / distance reading when using either a Garmin Edge head unit or a third party app such as Trainer road once the workout has finished and transferred over.

I presume not and just wanted others opinions as the elite direto has an internal power meter but I guess the change in wheel circumference as above will have no effect on the actual power readings being produced in Trainer road?

I do not fancy doing another FTP test again any sooner than I need to!

Thanks in advance for any reply..

  • Power readings are independent of app wheel circumference.
