Trip to Madiera

Going to Madiera for a family holiday in August and wanting to spend a day or two cycling.
Can't find anywhere to hire a suitable bike, so may have to take my own. Searching Internet, it looks very hilly....very good, but any general words of wisdom and / or, where to hire a decent bike from?
Cheers

There is also e-bike Madeira, do more than e-bikes.

Located out towards Reid's hotel; have not used them myself but had been recommended.
Was in Madeira in November, walking rather than cycling, and it is definitely steep.0
