Stages 6800 to 8000 compatibility

Can anyone tell me if I could swap my 6800 Stages pm onto the new 8000 Ultegra series.

I cant seem to find a definitive answer

    Lol there is always this but when ive done it i reconcile it with myself that its not obvious. but i still went and bought another power meter :)

    I totally agree, however after getting a new S3 there is zero chance of being allowed to get a new PM :lol:
