Hey all, some friends and I have been working on https://99spokes.com, a site that allows you to perform side-by-side comparisons across bikes from different manufacturers. Plus we’ve added some unique insights, like gearing ratio, to the comparisons.

I hope this doesn’t seem spammy. There’s no revenue associated with the site, it’s just a passion project and we’re excited about the utility, especially when shopping for a new bike. If you find it useful, or lacking, please let us know, we’d love to hear any feedback. Thanks!

Looks like a good start and something that could turn in to a great bike comparison tool with a bit of development and tweaking.

Does it not compare the wheelsets of any given bike?

    Thanks dstev55!

We don't compare the wheelset as a whole, but you can look at individual components (rims, hubs, spokes) side by side in the comparison view.

I get that, but I compared two Bianchi bikes and couldn't see the wheelsets listed at all.

Hmm, could be a data issue. Which bikes? I just compared two Bianchi 29rs and get hubs and tires, but only one has rims.

Only things relating to wheels that I see are wheel size and tyres.

Thanks for posting the link. Unfortunately we're currently limited to the data made available on the manufacturer site. Example here http://www.bianchiusa.com/bikes/road/ex ... er-record/, and it doesn't include spokes, rims, hubs. Many manufacturers do include more complete data.

I get what you're saying but I'm not talking about a comparison for the individual components of wheels but it would be useful for it to state "this bike has this set of wheels and that bike has this set of wheels". As far as I can see there is no mention of the wheels at all, which for most people is a very important part of a bike.

Fair point, I see what you mean. We'll keep that in mind as we continue to improve the comparison feature. Thanks for the feedback!

Weight would be good, although as not all manufacturers openly release that information I'd imagine it's hard to include

Searching by stack and reach might be good? Maybe give a range for each?
