What derailer would I need for a 9 speed set up to use a 32 max rear cassette i would like to keep it ultegra

    This (in medium cage) should work although officially only went up to 30 teeth, lots of people ran it with 32.

    One other point to note is that it's a 10 speed derailleur officially, but should be backwards compatible for 9 speed shifting as the ratio is the same. The Ultegra 6500 (last 9 speed ultegra) only does 27 teeth cassettes at best (again, officially).

    There is a slight risk that you might not be able to adjust the high limit screw sufficiently to accomodate all the gears as 9 speed cassettes are slightly wider than 10 - I'd rank this as unlikely however.

    Mountain bike 9 speed. XT long cage will go up to 11-34. Heavier, but tough.

    The current sora rear will also do it, and will take 32 tooth cassettes even in short cage configuration (medium cage/gs specced to 34 tooth).

    But OP wanted to keep it ultegra.
