Replacing PlanetX Model B wheel bearings
Can't see a vid on youtube anywhere.
On the non-drive side it looks like you're supposed to stick an allen key in the axle and grab the lock ring with a spanner. Seems like my axle has developed a lateral crack and the allen key wont hold it though
I tried mole grips on the adjacent sleeve but that didn't stop it spinning when I tried loosening the pair.
Next plan - angle grinder.
Or am I going crazily wrong somewhere?

Try mole grips around the cracked area with allen key inserted as it might close the crack enough for the allen key to hold. Obvious, but also make sure you're turning the axle nut in the right direction.0
