How to protect dropper post from theft

I had a zeal antitheft qr clamp on my old bike before it got stolen (at night in a very sketchy area) but now they are not available anymore for some reason, although it worked well imo. I'm thinking just quick shop stops but even then bike racks even in daylight are magnets for all kinds of evil doers. Of course qr will have to go. How are you guys( I mean those on a budget stretched thin) go around this conundrum?

Do people really steal dropper posts outside shops in a second or two?
More likely to nick the bike.I don't do smileys.

There's the coffee stop locks you can get - a bit of wire cable.
You are locking the rest of the bike properly though yeah ?0 -
Just fit a security bolt0

I think it's not easy to cut a u lock on a busy street but nick an expensive dropper post why not.0 -

I lock frame and rear wheel together with a u lock. For short stops I skip locking the front wheel... I like to think there is a surplus of stolen front wheels...0 -
If you have a dropper post there is no need for a qr seat post clamp.
Just fit a bolted clamp.“Life has been unfaithful

Seatpost clamp bolts are nearly always m5, you can buy security bolts with the same type of head, see ebay item

Obviously is not 100% thief proof but makes it more difficult0 -
Bit off topic, but I have a couple of cheapshit bikes for shopping, commuting etc.
Anything with a dropper post is never left anywhere except outside the cake shop. Surrounded by unlocked fancier bikes.I don't do smileys.

I do try to park next to more expensive bikes whenever possible.0 -

Or cheaper and more secure is once you have post fitted at correct height and bolt done up so post does not slip, round off the hex sides.
It means no one including you can now undo the bolt.
If you need to remove it yourself, you will need to drill it out or saw through the clamp.
Bolts and clamps are pretty cheap to replace.0
