Not sure what's the best forum for this...

I've got an action cam, think its called an Ape Cam, excellent piece of kit for £50. The problem comes when trying to do something with the action that its recorded.

I know GoPro have an excellent piece of Software called Quik, but its not possible to import other files into it. So, can anybody recommend some software that's similar to Quik?

Cheers

  • I think it's Final Cam that they recommend? It's not very good though.

Can't you just take the card out, use your PC to edit etc?

This is what I use for drag and drop onto a PC. Much faster than any software version.

I use Sony Vegas Movie Studio, I downloaded a trial version and played around with it but the trial version placed a watermark on the video but then bought the full version from Amazon for around £25 which essentially got me a licence key to unlock the trial version I had. I've been using it for 7 years now and can't see me using anything else though Vegas doesn't like the videos from my Hero5Session so I have to convert the section of interest to MP4 then edit it in Vegas.
I've added a signature to prove it is still possible.

You can use Garmin's Virb Edit software with any compatible video files. It is free for anyone to use.

If you're on a Windows platform you could try Windows Movie Maker - free download.

Nothing fancy but OK to use.

I used to use Quik for all my Garmin Virb videos, pretty sure it works with everything, rather than just GoPro footage.
