  • 246 pounds is about 112 Kgs, in my language, you don’t say how tall you are, but unless you’re Shaquille O’Neal, that’s on the heavy side, for a road bike. I think you may need a wheel with more spokes ( higher number of holes in the rim ) than your 2 choices. I’d get some wheels custom made if I were you, ask for 32 holes on the rear wheel.
  • AHH OK, THANKS FOR YOUR TIME

    MY HEIGHT IS A 6.23
  • Mavic recommend max 120kg weight limit, including bike on the Mavic elite.

Quite right, that’s leaving 8Kgs for the bike and any kit. Not much of a margin.

If it's your climbing you wish to improve I'd be looking at addressing the 246 pounds not marginally lighter wheels.....
FFS! Harden up and grow a pair :D
  • It's true, I'm going down about 9 pounds a month, but I need to change the wheels that the originals did not come out very good. i lost 22 lbs, in 3 month
  • Wouldn't be riding either of those and I'm 12 kg lighter than you. Have a good look round for some decent hand builts, something 23mm-25mm wide, 32 spokes each end and a decent hub. You'll pick up something like H Plus Son Archetypes/Velocity A23/Pacenti with Sapim Race spokes on Novatech/Miche hubs for circa £300. They'll be more reliable, will cope with the weight no problem, are likely to be as light.
