Hello. I am buying new XC Hardtail, budget is around 2k-2,5k. Carbon frame, for bike to be as light as possible. Not decided between Shimano/Sram and Fox/Rockshox setups... I Narowed it to three models.

1. Canyon Exceed cf sl 6.0 pro race (2.299 EUR):
10,3kg (Medium), Sram GX eagle 1x12 setup + RockShox SID RL. Brakes could be better, not sure about grip shift and I heard 1x12 could be costly (maintaince, replacement) option in a long run?

2. Cube Reaction C:62 SL (with some discounts, 2.250 EUR): 10,3kg (smallest frame): Deore XT Setup, Fox 32 Float SC FIT4

3. Rocky Mountain Vertex 970 SL (2017 model, with discounts I could probably get it for 2.300 EUR): 10,6kg (medium), Deore XT/XTR (rear) setup, Fox Step Cast Performance. It has REALLY loud rear hub, which I know it should be a feature, but I wonder if it could become annoying.

I currently own Cube Acid 29 (2013). It does its job, but the bike is really heavy, brakes are crap etc...

Could you help me please with suggestions. Thanks.

I like the look of the canyon, most of the setup is very good and what I would go for. In terms of maintenance it should be fine providing it’s looked after and you’re not buying replacement cassettes regularly. I can’t see why the maintenance would be anymore costly.

With the canyon if you don't like the grip shift just swap it for a normal click shifter? GX Eagle is still good but the more value orientated version of Srams eagle groupset so its going to last much longer.

Depends on where and how long you ride for as to say how long the gears would last, you could buy the bike and then purchase another chain and keep rotating it, a friend does this on his mtb.

Hello. Thank you for your answer and opinion.

So you are favoring Canyon (Sid rl, Sram Eagle, 1x12) over Cube (deore xt, fox float sc, 2x11)?
