Anyone else missing Strava segments on the map?

I've just noticed recently that one whole area of my local map, which used to have a good few segments, now has none! This includes one of the better hills in the area, although it does come up on activities.

Any ideas?

  • Someone else, just like me recently, "spring cleaning" their old created segments which in hindsight are too small?

You could always create some yourself from your previous rides, using the Strava website.

Really. Tell that to everyone who turned for today's reliability trail and rode as hard as they could also tell that to those who ride the Ely hardriders TT, they might actually agree but they did it anyway.

tbf, they probably aren't the type of people to worry about starva segments missing

No, but they’ll tell you if you haven’t got mudguards on. In the middle of an unusually long and dry August heatwave.

Strava appears to have trashed a whole load of segments on the basis of the heatmap/privacy issue.

They appear to have stopped people creating new ones too.

  • Creating new Strava segments is now working again for me, has been for ~1 week, for instance I created https://www.strava.com/segments/16989587 after yesterday's manic ~25min ride on the Voodoo where I was knocking out segment times surprisingly close to my best efforts on the Cube... Every one was a new best for 2018, though that might be partly due to little riding outdoors this year so far.
