Cheap flat pedal MTB shoes?

I have been scouring the market for ages trying to find a decent flat pedal mtb shoe that's on offer for around £50 or less. I really cant see any highly rated ones that come close to the price. 510 do great shoes but nothing in my budget apart from clipless pedals which Im not looking at moving too anytime soon. Does anyone have experience with cheaper but grippy mtb shoes. Even some trainers that are robust and have a compound that would work with a flat pedal (nukeproof neurons)would be very useful.
Thanks

What size, I've seen a lot of bargains recently but they always seem to be size 7 or 12.Now where's that "Get Out of Crash Free Card"0

They were some cracking deals on Specialized Cadet shoes before Xmas, £15 from Rutland. The two-bolt clipless slot comes with a watertight seal that runs flush with the main sole, that needs cutting with a blade.
They aren't winter shoes (unless you can fit a pair of Sealskin socks or similar), very airy, but I will be using mine a fair bit spring to autumn.================

What kind of shoes. I'm a size 11 but like lots of room.0

Sorry. As I said I'm not looking at riding clipless so the specialised shoes won't help.0

Just get some skate shoes.0

Adidas had Terrex Trail Cross SL shoes on offer for £50 last week. They have gone up to £70 now but may be worth keeping an eye on them in case of another price drop.“Life has been unfaithful

Keep an eye on pinkbike for used shoes, sometimes there's a bargain. In my experience you get what you pay for with flat pedal shoes, skate shoes don't come close to 5.10'sYT Wicked 160 ltd

I tend to just buy some cheap waterproof walking shoes. As long as you get some that are flat I find it’s no problem. £20 and you can abuse them for a season and then throw them away!Cannondale Trail 27.5 | 2015

yes very good, I've got some they have the stealth rubber sole on them same as five tens. I paid 74 for mine at christmas from a german outdoors shop.
Just get some vans or whatever skateboarders use these days, I've always found them to be grippy on flat bike pedals. They are normally on offer 30 quid or whatever in sports direct etc.0 -
I find the soles are too floppy on skate shoes.
If your flat pedals have studs on them then a £30 karrimore walking shoe is my choice.0 -
I was thinking the same and prefer the higher coverage of non skate shoes. Im also not particularly keen on the style and have bwen told they dont wear very well0

I use the Karrimor walking boots or trainers with studded pedals and appreciate the grip that both give. Boots have lasted 5 years and the trainers for two years and still going strong. About 1500 miles a year each.
The soles get damaged but really just superficial cuts. I prefer the softer soles because they grip better with the pins....take your pickelf on your holibobs....

Etnies skate shoes. Just make sure you get a model that's actually a skate shoe not from the fashion range.0
