I had a pretty big off last weekend, landing head first, so I need to buy a new skid lid.

I'm seriously contemplating the Giro Switchblade at £138 from Chain Reactions so that's the sort of budget I'm looking at, but I'm happy to spend less.

All depend what fits you. They all passed the tests so it's down to comfort really.

Full face or half shell? The new Bell Super DH has the best of both.

Either way you should try some on as fit can vary significantly between brands and even different models from the same brand.

A lot depends on fit, I ordered loads from CRC (get free returns) and still struggled to find one that fitted, my head is slap bang between M and L

Had the Bell Super 3, can recommend that, good venting, comfortable and good coverage. I now have a Troy Lee A2 which fits like a glove but is quite hot to wear, I’m dreading summer :o

Bell have just released a new trail helmet, looks pretty good.

Giant Rail was nice, as was Scott Stego.

Check out 7idp M2, too helmet for the money, lots of good reviews, I had one for a while.
