Ideas for new bike

Hello,
I'm looking at purchasing a road bike for around 700-800 pounds.
I'm selling my old due to being a high spec racing frame, but because of injury I'm looking for aluminium and higher comfort.
Any tips?

What injury needs aluminium to cure it ?
Could you use fatter tyres on the current bike ?0 -
Thank you.
I will look at those 2.
This time i still to household names as will be easier to sell i think.

I think you might be barking up the wrong tree.
Of the bikes I've had - my carbon is the most comfortable. You can build carbon to ride harshly or to absorb the bumps.
It's the same with aluminium. You can get a very harsh ride off Alu.. unless you buy properly you'll have taken a hit on the carbon stretto and bought a cheaper harsher riding bike.
What tyres have you got on and what Psi ?
Go wide as you can and then you can drop the pressure for a much more comfortable ride.
This review of your bike basically says as much -

I don't understand most of the comments in this thread - especially the OP.
Why are people looking at new bikes with an eye to selling them second hand?
Buy what you want and stuff any potential second hand sale - you're a mug if you don't buy bike A - the one you really want - and buy bike B because you think on some random day at some random point when you may sell the bike that someone will give you £30 more.
Cool - spend money and ride around on a bike you don't actually, really want.
Bet he won't chop the steerer down either because it may affect some random potential resale.
Utterly bizarre.Postby team47b » Sun Jun 28, 2015 11:53 am

Thank you for the info guys.
Yeah give the specs I thought its not unreasonable accepting a 1000 for the bike.
Yeah i really like the look or the cube and would do me just fine if I can shift the Moda.0 -
Well i bought it online.
I know it isn't the right bike for me due to injury.
I also can't afford to give it away and buy i new one0 -
How long have you had the Moda ? How many miles have you put on it ?
What is this injury that stops you riding this bike but lets you ride another one ?
This doesn't make sense.0 -
Ive had it around 2 years and probably not much more than 1000 miles.
Tendinitis in my hip and also have back issues.
Its never been the most comfortable tbh.
It is a bit too aggressive ride for me.0 -
1000 miles over 2 years isn't much - maybe you need to get used to it more ?
What are you doing to treat the back and the tendinitis ? A new bike wont fix them.0 -

Well said. Waste of money buying another bike if you only do 500 miles a year...

I think I'm over my injury now.
My back hurts because of the style of the bike still though. Just hoping for a more comfortable ride.0 -
Have you had the bike set up for you?
Post a picture of the bike here both with you on it and just the bike.Postby team47b » Sun Jun 28, 2015 11:53 am

There are cheaper things you can do rather than losing £1000 on selling it on.
Stem, Post, Bars, Fatter tyres - sometimes this is all you need.0
