Im looking into getting a new Cervelo but torn between the S3D ETap or the R5D Dura Ace. Im just wondering which'll be the better for the rolling Wiltshire humps but with added speed!?!

Both great bikes, but I’d go for the R5D.0

The new R5 for me. Revised geo, lower stack and HT and rides like a charm. Looks stunning too.
I would buy the Ultegra R8000 complete build version. Only £400 more than the frame, strip off the bits you would not use and sell. Add power meter at cranks and decent wheels you are good to go.0 -
Different bikes, not directly comparable - Aero 2nd tier versus Race top tier. I'd do as above and get the R5, probably with a cheaper groupset then strip and add eTap myself. If you prefer Shimano then sure go for the DA version.0

why not S5?0

Not sure on the choice between the two bikes, but without a doubt I'd go with ETap. This coming from someone who runs Dura Ace mechanical on two bikes, ETap is the future !0

So coming from someone who has no ground to compare the two electronic grouspets in question?...
Having used both DA Di2 and eTap, I’d go with Di2 every time.
9170 sh!ts on eTap Hydro, the brakes being a principle point.0 -
You sound like a friendly guy and It's just my opinion.
I ran Ultegra Di2 on my Look before ditching it for Dura Ace 9000.
I've had a Trek with ETap on a weekend loan from my LBS and as I stated, I
believe it to be the way forward, no cables, no wires.
So I do have some grounds to compare !0 -
Why no love for etap Ryan ?0

It’s a good system but way behind in terms of refinement.
Shimano have been making electronic groupsets for 5 years odd now, even 9070 is above eTap IMO.
That in mind, 9150/70 is even better. Depends what you’re after, silky smooth, few cables and years of refinement, or no wires, bit clunky but a tad lighter.
I also only have to charge my battery once in a blue moon, not after every ride.....
Saying that, if I was given a bike with etap, I wouldn’t rush out to buy Di2, but if given the option, Di2 for me.0 -

Not really, second rate, old Di2 isn’t the same as state of the art, top level Di2.0 -
Power meter is a waste of money.
