We've barely evolved to digest alcohol and dairy. I think expecting us to stop bickering over pretty much everything is a bit ambitious.
It’s more the justification of what is often extremist stuff for the purposes of challenging the other, equally extremist position.
Ultimately most people are just at different points on the spectrum, but any disagreement instantly throws you into the other extreme.0 -
Vaguely related to this thread is the reporting of the Representation of the People Act 1918 100 years ago. There is fairly limited mention of the 5 million men who gained the vote, and presumably a similar, if not larger number, of women who didn't until 1928. Does make it seem like the working class are not very important.
For the avoidance of doubt I am not knocking the significance of some (8 million) women getting the vote.0
