Hi
Four of us have a trip planned in early May to ride Alp d huez
We are finding it difficult to find transport from our airport Grenoble to our base in Bourg d Osians. It seems that the Bus service ceases in April at the end of the Ski season .
Can anyone recommend any shuttle/taxi etc please ,there will not be the need to carry bikes
Thanks

Would it not be easier to hire a car? Not going to be hugely expensive when split between 4. It's not a bad drive from Grenoble.0 -
Thanks for the reply MrB123.One . i should have said above that of my colleagues looked into this ,but we were put off by the quotes we had, ie holding deposit 1500 euros + extra for excess0

1500 euros seems like an awful lot for car hire, how big a car are you looking at?
FWIW, my transfer from Chambery to Vaujany (by ADH) for an 8 seat van (taxi) is 280 euros each way, so around £500 in total. That's for 8 of us so it works out pretty cheap. My blog: http://www.roubaixcycling.cc (kit reviews and other musings)

Facebook? No. Just say no.0 -
regarding the holding of money on car hire, use the credit card and get an excess insurance policy ( 20 quid last time I used one) You then have no actual cash tied up and can think of the car hire as the usual price of £250 for a Mondeo type saloon (skycanner results).
Further to that, depending where you are staying, they could recommend a taxi or shuttle service.0 -
The hire car companies these days seem to charge any thing up to around €2000 on your credit card, only one company charged me the money to my account, but they return it at the end. I always get an excess policy, this covers up to €3000 and I pay €50 for an annual policy, with four traveling it will be a small cost.0

I think there is a bus daily link (https://www.transisere.fr/en), but you can't register right now, maybe wait 1/2 months and you will be able to reserve.0
