using Elemnt Bolt with ride with GPS

I have a new Wahoo Elemnt bolt and I am currently syncing it with Strava . I plan to create rides with ride with GPS to allow me to use the turn by turn.

My question is when I use the ride with gps will the ride record on strava or do I need to plot a route on strava aswell.

    It will still auto sync to strava unless you de-authorize the link to strava

    I dont use RWG, but are you saying the route file automatically syncs to strava then to the Bolt? I usually upload the gpx file to my phone and it appears in my route list

    Recording is solely on the device (Bolt). After the ride is saved it will be uploaded wherever you have set up on the device (Strava/TrainingPeaks/Todays Plan/RWGPS etc), and this isn't affected by where the route you follow is from.

    You can create routes on any site and they will all appear in the same list on your Routes page, just RWGPS ones offer turn-by-turn and some others don't. I don't actually like the turn-by-turn, as the way it interprets what a left/right/straight on is doesn’t really seem to correlate with the real world, and I find it easier just to follow the line from somewhere like Strava.
