    I'd definitely have concerns about the chain tension, I'd personally if a Alfine chain tensioner if I'd be installing single speed on a Vert drop out bike - doesn't look as good, but would stop the chain from over tightening and blowing out.

    All my opinion of course, it does look good

    It is not overtightened!
    I had the bike upside down and the rear wheel slid by it's own weight to the ground of the dropout and thats the resulting chain tension.
    It is a new Sram 8speed chain where the single links tend to be longer than those of a Shimano 8speed chain.
    It is a matter of 1-2 tenths of a millimeter over the whole chain length.
    On the first try I used that Shimano chain and the wheel didn't slid wholly to the ground of the dropout.

    I'm sure it's not over tightened stood there, once some watts are being put through it though that's another story - but hey, what do I know, just another dork on an internet forum
