Just as well it wasn’t yesterday. That was the date in 2016. Tailwind would have been epic though. My blog: http://www.roubaixcycling.cc (kit reviews and other musings)

Good luck Bender, and anyone else taking part. Thankfully I had the good sense not to even try to enter this year.0

Weather won’t bother me, I’m so unfit I might not make the cut off for the third lap. Sorry you won’t be there TOTGB0

Sheep, I’m sure you’re a lot fitter than I am at the moment.0 -
I've ducked out. No real power and had some palpitations when I got there. Cycling is done until I figure this out.
Did a lap in the light of Battle in the Dark, rode back to hotel, came home.
Some interesting things last night though. Battle in the Dark was scheduled for 8.15 but still really light at 8.30. Tide had only just started going out so the 'fast' part of the beach was really really hard going. My blog: http://www.roubaixcycling.cc (kit reviews and other musings)

In other new though, my new Vitus with 42c WTB Resolute on is an absolute weapon. First time I've ever been able to ride on loose deep sand.My blog: http://www.roubaixcycling.cc (kit reviews and other musings)

Was very light and even the last lot going through hit the beach in the light, it should of started at about 8:45 so it was fair for everyone as the first lot were back with some light.....but its a great event to watch as everyone enters the beach0

It’s due to the tides apparently, at least that’s what I was told when I questioned their idea of holding it on Mother’s Day last year. It was a great weekend as usual but I’m sure it’s rigged. All the fast guys finished before it started tipping down, don’t the organisers realise it’s us slower riders that make these events affordable to run? I knew I was slow but wow, way down the field even for me. Glad I did it although my knees are are telling me off today. Really enjoyed myself until about 300m to go when I was forced to dismount due to a rider in front of me faltering and both legs completely cramped up. Still it’s a kick start for my recovery. Hope you get yourself sorted Bender.0

That was my 3rd and one of the best....even with the rain, made it easier for a cross bike across the sand I found.
will be back for more fun next year, I might even get to do some training for it0
