Suggestions for 1x Flat bar commuter bikes?

I am thinking of replacing my old hybrid bike and I am thinking of something along the lines of:
* Flat bar;
* Alu frame;
* 1x SRAM 9x to 11x.
* Standard brakes (ie not discs).

I could probably relax the last constraint (main reason is to try and keep things simple).
I do about 20miles a day mostly flat.

I looked around and cannot find anything at a sensible price point, eg 500 pounds. If I can't find anything I'll get one of the many doubles available, eg the Triban 520.

While I regularly fix/change parts on my bikes, I've never done a full build so I am reluctant to build one.

Any advice?

    Why not get a bike which suits all your need except the 1x that has removebake front chainrings, remove and replace with a narrow wide, lose the front mech, cable and shifter, sorted.

    I’ve commuted 1x for the last 7 years and about 7500 miles, flat bar, the first was a Carrera Gryphon and now a Planet X London Road.

    Have a look at Boardman Hybrid or the Voodoo Marasa as examples of what you could then convert.
    Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.
  • Thanks for this. I was hoping someone built what I am looking for but it does not seem to be the case.

    I wonder why px don't do their London Road as flat bar although I guess I could ask.

    I am thinking I might have to relax my preference for standard brakes and go for discs as most bikes seem to come with them these days.
