Tyre clearance ?

Fitted some new 35c conti CX speed tyres onto my steel road bike. They measure up 37mm on my rims so wider than expected.

The front has 8mm clearance all around but the rear is a bit tight, 5mm around the chainstays and 3mm at the seat stays (only on the sides tho 6mm height gap).

I am aware that a wheel buckle could make it rub and a bit of gravel or mud could catch etc but is clearance this tight dangerous?

I don't really want to drop to a smaller size. Fyi I intend to ride this bike on tow paths / roads and dry fireroads (no gloopy mud )

Thoughts ?

I would not think it is dangerous, a stone may get caught but would most likely get pinged out. I'd put a bit of helicopter tape on the seat tube to prevent scratches though.
Rose Xeon CDX 3100, Ultegra Di2 disc (nice weather)
Ribble Gran Fondo, Campagnolo Centaur (winter bike)
    Van Raam 'O' Pair
Land Rover (really nasty weather  )
