Inner tube size

I have a disc bike but want to put 30mm tyres on for the winter,what size inner tubes will i need or can i use the ones with the 25mm tyres?

  • It depends what it says on the side of the tubes you have - it will tell you the minimum/maximum sizes it can fit.
  • I agree with foggymike. If you are already using an 22mm inner tube in a 25mm, stretching it out to 30mm would be much more likely to puncture or tear. Even if it's a 25mm inner tube, I'd be inclined to fit a 28mm. For the sake of £8 I'd prefer to reduce the risk of puncturing in winter, which can be a real PITA on a bad day.
