Self adhesive steel squares with CAAD12

These little metal squares came in the plastic bag with the reflectors and warranty card with my CAAD12. Does anyone know what they are for?
They are about 10x10 mm, one is slightly curved and both have a strip of double sided foam tape on them. :roll:

    They stick to the frame behind the front derailleur. The derailleur has an adjustment screw that pushes against the stick on plate and not the frame.
