28mm Tyres on a Giant TCR Advanced Pro ? And which ones ?

Anyone used 28mm tyres on TCR Advanced Pro with the stock Giant carbon wheels ?
Looks like there's room but that could be because the Giant tyres look a little small for a 25mm it says they are.
Been on Schwalbe Ones for a long while but thinking of trying Vredstein Fortezza Senso All Weathers (or maybe the Extremes).
Any thoughts ?
Cheers

I was doing the same research and I think the answer is they won't fit, because in general depending on the wheels internal width the tire expands as you may already know. On my defy the 28mm's measure 30-31.0

I have 25mm Schwalbe Pro Ones on my TCR Advanced SL frame and they fit with a bit of room to spare. They come up about 27mm I think, but I doubt the 28mm versions would fit. The Pro Ones always seem to be wider than their specified size though, so a 'normal' 28mm might be ok, if a little close.0

PS: Let us know how you get on if you do try 28s with the frame!0

I was under the impression that the TCR was designed for 25c tyres. You also need to factor in brake calipers with clearances for 28c tyres e.g. 105 5800/Ultegra R8000/Dura-Ace R9100. You may be ok on the front fork however there does not look to be a lot of clearance on the rear chain stays/seat tube. Those Giant rims are 17mm I.D. as above a 28c tyre is going to size up 29-31mm approx.0

Just ordered Vredstein Fortezza Sensor All Weather in 28mm from Merlin.
May call them in the morning and swap to 25mm as I don't fancy donating nearly £50s worth of tyres to the wife's commuter !25th August 2013 12hrs 37mins 52.3 seconds 238km 5500mtrs FYRM Never again.0 -

Remember its not just the width of the tyre consider. I tried fitting 25s to my Colnago AC-R and the width was not a problem, it was the height, which caused the tyre to foul on the rear brake bridge.... annoying but its not like I'd bought new tyres specifically for that bike.Scott Foil RC

Tyres just arrived to work so hopefully fitting tonight although...
Wheels are set tubeless at the moment - Should I have ordered some different rim tape or will the tubeless rim tape work ?
Just worried it may be too big/thick and affect the fit.

These are the 28mm on.
Width fine but about 4mm to the brakes in most places so a bit close for comfort.
Fine round the back of the bottom bracket.
I think on a wider rim they'd be fine as you'd get more width and less height.
Ordered a new pair in 25mm so looks like the wifes getting some 28mm on her Synapse for Christmas.
Its looking good though !

They look ok on the front from the pictures, but the rear looks a bit too close. Thanks for sharing the photos, good to know when considering the next tyres to get.0
