I have always had bikes with threaded bottom brackets and have used Campag Ultratorque for the last few years. I am looking at new frames that are BB86. There would appear to be hazards in fitting press fit cups. The answer to me appears to be the adaptor type that goes in one side and and collets screw into the other end. I can find one for BB30 to Campag. Does anyone know of such a product for BB86?
The frame I am looking at is a Genesis Zero, I hear that the quality of manufacture makes quite a difference to whether you will have probs with creaking? The other option I was considering was a Colnago CLX with the 82.5 threadfit, which I understand is just an insert that is replaceable and is effectively a removable BB86 insert?

Creaking seems a well documented issue? A one word answer isn't really much of an insight.Greetings from the wet and windy North west0

There are no hazards in fitting press-fit cups, if that helps. BB86 works well, far better than many of the other press fit standards.0

I have a BB86 bottom bracket in my Look 675, I’ve had the bike just over four years and the bottom bracket hasn’t caused a minutes problem. I changed the bottom bracket a couple of weeks ago after seeking advice on here as to which of the many BB86’s to choose and only because it was starting to run a little harsh. I wouldn’t hesitate in recommending a frame with a BB86.0

I have had a BB86 press fit bottom bracket on my genesis volare for over 2 year with no problems running campagnolo athena chainrings. I haven't made a serious investigation but my impression was that when issues were mentioned in the forum it was mainly with BB30 rather than BB86.0
