Hi, I'm looking to buy a camera that I plan to mount on the side of my helmet
I can spend up to £150 maximum and have been reading reviews for some time
I think the most important thing for me is it needs to record for a minimum of 1.5 hours
I also want to be able to switch it on and it will just record on its own for the whole of the 1.5-2hrs without me having to touch it
I take it all footage is filmed on these type of cameras in small clips of up to say ten minutes?
Hopefully the camera will automatically rewrite over the SD card once its full?
Recommendations please

Get down to halfords and pick up the gopro session (use British cycling discount if you're a member).
A little above your budget but worth it!

The Hero 5 should get you 1.5 hours. If you turn stabilization off, a little longer.
But it is easily the best quality of anything at that price.
In terms of overwrite, just get a 64GB card. That will take 1080p 60fps for about 4 1/2 hours. Deleting is done on the app or about 5 button presses on the camera. My blog: http://www.roubaixcycling.cc (kit reviews and other musings)

Would the Shimano CM2000 at PBK for £60 currently get you 90mins coverage at a recording rate lower than HD @60fps (which blurb claims is 1.2 hours)?

For me, the sound and image quality of the GoPro added to the stabilization wins out. The sound, in particular, is very good indeed.
This is the Session 5 in bumpy CX
