From what little I knew of her 'gutsy' always seemed to be a fair description.
Not necessarily the greatest palmares, but that's not always important, is it? Looking back at her own description of her career it's clear jut how much the total lack of a structure for women's racing impacted on that:

Very sad news, only 43. She was a good team rider and was probably just a few years too early to benefit from the BC system so yes, the palmares probably doesn't reflect her talent.0

such sad news, not unexpected given we knew the cancer was uncurable, but still very sad,I only met her the once at the Womens Tour, and she was happy to sign autographs and chat with anyone, even if I think she felt a bit embarrased at having the attention, and her post riding career in the media commentating on womens cycling was as effortless as she could often made riding a bike look.0
